Introduction to the Portfolio

While this portfolio was a product on my final course in my Master's of Arts degree in International Security Studies from the University of Arizona, I have decided to keep it updated with new research and writings that I complete. I personally think it will be beneficial to my career to keep highlights on my website of research papers or blog posts I have written about contemporary topics in the national and international security realm. This portfolio does include essays which I completed during my undergraduate and graduate courses, as well as some new products. (These can be found throughout the

website-- mainly in the writing samples tab.)  Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about anything found throughout my personal portfolio.

My Academic Reflection will cover the following courses that I took during my Master's of Arts in International Security Studies Program:

  • POL 544: International Relations of Sub-Saharan Africa

  • POL 521: Transnational Organized Crime and National Security

  • POL 530: Dynamics of Civil Wars

  • POL 559: Comparing US and EU Democracy Promotion Policy in the MENA region

  • POL 578: Geospatial Intelligence

  • POL 561: Concepts of Human Rights and Security

  • POL 520: How Terrorism Ends

My Professional Reflection essay highlights how my International Security Studies program has helped me grow in various ways. I discuss the skills and knowledge that I have gained and how these will be assets of mine once I enter into the security career field.
